Mini Implants (TADs)

Retainers

Dental retainers play a crucial role in maintaining the results of orthodontic treatment. After braces or aligners have straightened your teeth, retainers help keep them in their new, corrected positions.

  • Removable Retainers: These retainers can be taken in and out by the wearer.
  • Hawley Retainers: These are one of the most common types. They consist of a hard plastic or acrylic mold for the upper palate, along with wires that hold the teeth in place. The plastic part can now be customized with various patterns and colors.
  • Clear Plastic Molded Retainers: Made of clear plastic or polyurethane, these retainers are created by making a mold of your teeth. The clear material is heated and molded to fit your teeth precisely. When worn, they are barely noticeable.
  • Permanent Retainers: These are placed by a dental professional and remain in place until removed.

A custom-fitted wire is glued or bonded to the back of your teeth.

TADs

A Temporary Anchorage Device (TAD), also known as a “mini medical screw,” is specifically designed for orthodontic treatment.

These small medical-grade titanium anchors serve as stable anchor points to guide teeth into new positions.

TADs are used to address various orthodontic problems, including:

  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Tooth gaps
  • Molars that need straightening
  • Jaws that require repair
