About the Treatment

What Are Standard Braces?

Metal braces, also known as traditional braces or metal brackets, are an orthodontic device used to move teeth to the desired position as planned by your orthodontist. They consist of stainless-steel brackets attached to the front of your teeth, connected with a metal wire.

These braces are fixed, meaning they are placed and removed only by a qualified orthodontist. Patients can wear them on both arches or just one, depending on their treatment plan.

How Do Braces Work?

Metal brackets are connected by a wire that applies gentle pressure to your teeth, guiding them into the desired position over time. Rubber bands secure the arch wire to the brackets and apply extra pressure in specific areas to better align your bite.

Your Options

Types of Braces Available in Dubai

Traditional Metal Braces

The classic option — stainless-steel brackets with elastic bands. Reliable and effective for all levels of misalignment. Traditional braces with elastics apply friction and pressure to guide teeth into place over time.

Damon Braces

Damon braces use a slide mechanism instead of elastic ties, allowing teeth to move more freely, quickly, and comfortably. Without elastic ties that collect plaque, dental hygiene is far easier during treatment. Available in clear brackets for image-conscious patients.

Clear (Ceramic) Braces

Ceramic braces are a discreet alternative to metal braces. They function the same way but use clear or tooth-coloured brackets that blend naturally with your teeth. Some ceramic braces use self-ligating technology, eliminating the need for elastic bands entirely.

Which Type Is Right for You?

Dr. Hakim will evaluate your teeth, bite, and facial structure to recommend the most suitable braces for your specific case, always with a focus on facial balance, airway health, and long-term stability.
